Films

Do you remember the first film you saw? I don’t, but have been informed it was the Glenn Close 101 Dalmatians. I would much rather it be something more spectacular, but as The Master taught us, so it goes. My cinematic memory begins in 1999, with a highly enjoyable visit to Toy Story 2 and an unexpected viewing of The Phantom Menace (I was originally meant to see Yellow Submarine), but it wasn’t until 2004 when I had my first truly important film experience.

It was an innocuous showing of Shark Tale, but when I left something was different. I hadn’t enjoyed it. I’m sure there were films before I’d not really engaged with, but Shark Tale was the first time I’d left dissatisfied. I’d like to say this was the first step of the journey to my now highly critical nature, which I now write for you on this blog.

The Film section is where to come for all things film discussion, from insightful ongoing features to my strong opinions on all thing cinema.
